宁夏大学是教育部与自治区人民政府“部区合建”高校，国家“一流学科”建设高校，国家“211工程”重点建设高校。 宁夏大学始建于1958年。1997年12月，宁夏大学与原宁夏工学院、银川师专（含宁夏教育学院）合并；2002年2月，与宁夏农学院合并，组建了新的宁夏大学，揭开了学校改革发展崭新的一页。学校坐落在历史悠久、风光秀丽的塞上历史文化名城银川市，校园楼宇林立、花木繁茂、环境幽雅，是读书治学的理想园地。

学校坚持走开放办学之路。在创新与上海交通大学对口支援工作模式的基础上，先后与山东大学、西北农林科技大学、华中科技大学、吉林大学、南昌大学、浙江大学、厦门大学、湖南师范大学等多所国内著名高校结成了实质性的交流合作关系。立足于区域特色和优势学科，先后与十几个国家和地区的几十所高校建立了合作关系。与阿联酋迪拜大学合作建立了海湾地区第一所孔子学院。学校是教育部首批批准的接收外国留学生的高校，是中国政府奖学金来华留学生接收院校、国家汉办/孔子学院总部奖学金生接收院校和国家汉办/孔子学院总部批准的宁夏地区唯一的HSK（汉语水平考试）考点。自1992年招收留学生以来，先后有40多个国家2000多名留学生来校学习。 面向未来，学校将全面贯彻落实立德树人根本任务，坚持特色发展、创新发展和高质量发展，为把宁夏大学建设成为“区域特色鲜明、服务地方能力突出的西部一流大学”而努力奋斗。

宁夏财经职业技术学院始建于1958年，隶属于自治区教育厅，是国家示范性高等职业院校，自治区文明校园，宁夏现代服务业职业教育集团理事长单位，教育部第二批现代学徒制试点单位，全国职业院校数字化校园建设实验校，自治区优质专科高等职业院校，自治区“互联网+教育”试点学校，自治区“三全育人”综合改革试点高校，自治区高校实行人员总量管理试点单位。学院位于宁夏首府银川市，占地面积577亩，校舍建筑面积10.27万平方米。建有国家级生产性实训基地和“双师型”教师培养培训基地，宁夏现代商贸职业技能公共实训中心和跨专业实训平台。多功能专业研修室9个，校内实训室34个。拥有校内实训工位2018个，校外实习实训基地138个。图书馆藏书近40万册。目前在校生5500余人。在编教职工252人，其中，专任教师153人，教授22人，副教授67人；博士2人，硕士138人；双师型教师83人。自治区教学团队8个，自治区教学名师4人，自治区高端会计人才6人。院级教学名师4人，专业（学科）带头人15人，骨干教师8人。学院设招生专业及方向27个，涵盖财经商贸、电子信息、土木建筑、教育与体育、文化艺术等5个专业大类,形成会计、金融、市场营销、物业管理、计算机、应用英语6大专业群。其中，国家示范专业2个，国家骨干专业5个，自治区骨干示范专业4个，自治区高水平专业5个。学院积极推进招生制度改革，试行普通高考招生、分类考试和自主招生并举的考试招生制度。毕业生就业率持续稳定在98%以上。学院先后获得“全国毕业生就业工作先进集体”“全国节约型公共机构示范单位”“自治区招生管理工作先进集体”“自治区高校党建和大学生思想政治教育工作先进单位”“自治区建设学习型党组织先进单位”“自治区教育系统民主管理示范学校”“师德建设先进集体”“自治区政务公开先进集体”“自治区基层党的建设先进单位”“自治区平安校园”等荣誉。
